Patient Service Representative

Description

We are looking for a Patient Service Representative to support a busy healthcare office. This fully onsite opportunity is ideal for someone who is comfortable assisting patients at the front desk, handling high-volume scheduling activity, and ensuring accurate registration and insurance details. This is a Long-term Contract position that requires flexibility with scheduling and occasional travel to nearby office locations as needed.

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate new and existing patient appointments, including changes, cancellations, and follow-up visits, while maintaining an organized daily schedule.

- Welcome patients professionally, guide them through the check-in process, and provide support with general service-related questions.

- Review and enter demographic, insurance, and other registration details accurately within the practice management system.

- Communicate payment expectations clearly and collect copays or outstanding balances in accordance with office procedures.

- Perform post-call and post-visit administrative work such as documenting interactions, updating records, scanning documents, and routing messages appropriately.

- Assist with eligibility checks, charge-related inquiries, and other front-office tasks that help keep patient access operations running smoothly.

- Support call center and front desk workflows in a fully onsite setting, managing a high standard of customer service throughout each patient interaction.

- Travel to nearby offices, including East Brunswick or Old Bridge, when coverage or business needs require additional onsite support.

Requirements - At least 2 years of recent experience in a medical front desk, patient access, or healthcare call center environment.

- Hands-on experience with patient scheduling, registration, and assisting patients with routine service needs.

- Strong knowledge of insurance verification, eligibility review, balance communication, and payment collection processes.

- Prior use of Phreesia is required, and experience with Epic is considered a strong advantage.

- Ability to complete accurate documentation and after-call administrative tasks in an electronic records or practice management system.

- Flexible availability to work varying shifts, remain later when needed, and adapt to changing office coverage demands.

- Willingness to work fully onsite and travel occasionally to other nearby New Jersey locations.

- Ability to meet healthcare compliance requirements, including flu vaccination expectations during the season. Talent Match®
