Position Summary:
The Peer Navigator provides direct Peer Recovery Support Services (PRSS) using a person-centered, recovery-oriented approach. The position conducts outreach, responds to referrals, provides warm handoffs, supports recovery planning, and connects participants to housing, employment, treatment, and community resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. Lived experience in recovery from substance use disorder or co-occurring conditions required. CPRS credential or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Experience in peer support, outreach, or navigation preferred.
Skills and KnowledgeRequired:
Knowledge of recovery principles, community resources, motivational communication, documentation, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and cultural responsiveness.
Travel andSpecial Requirements :
Frequent travel throughout assigned New Jersey regions; occasional evening or weekend activities. 40 hours per week.
