The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Director of Translational Pathology for a prominent client of ours. This position is 100% Remote
.
- Pay rate $180.00 - $200.00 Per hour
- Design, build, and lead internal digital pathology capabilities, supporting data generation across the translational portfolio
- Develop and manage external partnerships, with a primary focus on digital and computational pathology
- Define and drive the translational pathology strategy for assigned assets, from preclinical through clinical stages
- Provide scientific leadership and expert guidance to Global Research & Development on translational pathology approaches, including evaluation of scientific rationale, clinical applicability, validation status, and technical/statistical considerations
- Ensure effective integration of translational pathology plans into broader program and clinical development strategies through close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
- Lead the creation and integration of pathology datasets with multi-omic analyses to support biomarker discovery and translational hypothesis testing
- MD or MD/PhD from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Anatomic Pathology (U.S. or equivalent international training accepted)
- 5+ years of postdoctoral and relevant industry experience in pathology-driven translational research
- Demonstrated leadership in human translational research and clinical trial support
- Hands-on experience with digital and/or computational pathology technologies
- Proven ability to define translational strategies grounded in disease biology and mechanism of action, aligned with clinical development goals
- Deep expertise in pathology-based and biomarker technologies, including:
- Immunohistochemistry (monoplex and multiplex)
- Digital pathology and spatial analyses
- NGS, immunoassays, and proteomics
- Assay development and validation
- Extensive experience developing innovative translational strategies spanning preclinical through late-stage clinical development
- Experience or working knowledge of companion diagnostics (CDx) development
- Prior experience supporting regulatory-facing translational or biomarker strategies
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling digital pathology platforms in an industry setting
