Our client in New Jersey has an immediate need for a Network Administrator to join their team. Please note that this is a contract to hire opportunity with our client and NOT with NRI.
PositionSummary
The Network Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s network infrastructure and core systems. This role requires strong technical expertise in Microsoft Windows Server environments, Cisco network infrastructure, and Microsoft 365 E5 services. The ideal candidate will ensure network security, availability, and performance across multiple locations while supporting end-user connectivity and collaboration tools.
Key Responsibilities Network Administration- Configure, monitor, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Manage LAN/WAN connectivity, VLANs, QoS, and network segmentation.
- Implement and maintain network security best practices, including access controls and firewall policies.
- Troubleshoot network outages, latency, and performance issues.
- Maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and configurations.
- Administer and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Oversee virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V or VMware.
- Manage system patching, updates, and backups for servers and critical systems.
- Ensure domain and file system security, user/group management, and access provisioning.
- Administer Microsoft 365 E5 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, One Drive, and Security & Compliance Center.
- Implement and maintain Intune device management and conditional access policies.
- Support Azure AD synchronization and identity management.
- Configure and monitor Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Office 365.
- Maintain firewall, VPN, and endpoint security policies in compliance with organizational standards.
- Perform regular network and system audits to identify vulnerabilities.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation.
- Provide Tier 2–3 technical support for networking and system-related issues.
- Collaborate with helpdesk and application teams to resolve complex IT incidents.
- Assist in IT project planning and infrastructure upgrades.
- 5+ years of experience as a Network Administrator, Systems Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco networking (CCNA-level or higher) routing, switching, VPN, and security.
- Strong knowledge of Meraki Cloud management for switching, routing, and wireless.
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration and Active Directory management.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 E5 and Azure AD environments.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Cisco CCNP or Microsoft Certified:
Azure Administrator / Security certification. - Experience with Meraki cloud-managed networks.
- Familiarity with Power Shell scripting and automation.
- Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments.
