Position Overview
Service Credit Union is looking for a Network Engineer II to serve as a key member of the IT staff. The role evaluates, designs, and maintains performance of enterprise network and IT systems, ensuring compliance with corporate policies. It collaborates with IT management and the Network Engineer team to plan, coordinate, deploy, and maintain the IT network infrastructure.

- Works with Infrastructure Manager to manage design, installation, and maintenance of IT network infrastructure across LAN/WAN, corporate and DR datacenters, and remote branches.
- Monitors LAN/WAN performance to ensure resource availability and reliability, making recommendations as needed.
- Performs network maintenance and upgrades on hardware and software.
- Installs and configures network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other appliances.
- Creates and maintains network datacenter, branch, and WAN topology diagrams.
- Participates in weekly on‑call rotation with network/systems team.
- Provides helpdesk support and troubleshooting for network‑related issues.
- Maintains backups of all network equipment configurations.
- Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Only US citizens.
- BA/BS in Information Systems or equivalent preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Network Engineer.
- Cisco CCNA certification required;
Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP preferred. - Experience with Cisco ISR (4000, 1001), ASR, Nexus, Palo Alto SD‑WAN, Aruba, Juniper, F5 load balancers, Aruba Wireless/Clear Pass, and related equipment.
- Routing and switching protocols: EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, NHRP, GRE, DMVPN, PAgP, LACP, VTP, CDP, CEF, VLANs, STP, OTV, TACACS+, Radius, Net Flow, QoS, 802.1X.
- In‑depth knowledge of dynamic routing protocols emphasizing BGP.
- Experience designing redundant, scalable network solutions for datacenter, voice, WAN, and LAN.
- Full understanding of SD‑WAN solutions.
- Experience with Metro Ethernet, MPLS, and troubleshooting complex routing and switching issues.
- Ability to troubleshoot datacenter network connectivity issues.
