The IT Support Specialist will join our internal team responsible for supporting all business applications, including ERP, MES, and related systems, for onsite users in Long Valley, NJ. This role is fully in-office and focuses on helping end users resolve issues quickly, improve system usage, and keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.
Key responsibilities- Provide front-line support for all internal applications (ERP, MES, office productivity tools, and other business systems).
- Troubleshoot and resolve user issues related to software, user access, configurations, and basic hardware as it relates to application use.
- Log, prioritize, and track incidents and service requests through the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with users.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or external vendors when necessary, following defined procedures.
- Assist with user onboarding: account creation, role/permission setup in ERP and MES, and basic training on core applications.
- Document solutions, FAQs, and user guides to build a knowledge base and reduce recurring issues.
- Support application testing for upgrades and enhancements, including user acceptance testing and feedback collection.
- Work closely with business departments (operations, finance, supply chain, etc.) to understand their processes and help optimize how they use ERP and MES.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, or application support, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands‑on experience supporting business applications; prior exposure to ERP and/or MES systems is strongly preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to explain technical concepts in clear, user‑friendly language.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work fully onsite in Long Valley, NJ, Monday–Friday.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to work issues through to resolution independently.
- Experience with inventory management of Manufacturing Technology equipment, including tracking and maintaining accurate records of hardware and related assets.
- Comfortable owning routine, day‑to‑day support work so senior IT staff can focus on higher‑level initiatives.
- Collaborative team player who isn’t afraid to pick up the phone or pull in a peer when it will get the issue resolved faster.
- Experience with a specific ERP and/or MES platform (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, etc.).
- Experience documenting procedures and creating user‑facing guides or training materials.
- Background supporting production, warehouse, or shop‑floor users.
