Network Engineer – AWS & Palo Alto
Location:
Englewood Cliffs, NJ Duration: 6+ months Pay Range: $40.00- 45.00 /Hour

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with 6–8 years of experience in enterprise networking, cloud networking, and network security. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Enterprise Routing & Switching, Palo Alto Firewalls, and AWS Network Architecture, along with experience supporting large-scale LAN, WAN, and data center environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, and data center network infrastructure.
- Design and manage AWS network architecture, including VPCs, subnets, routing, security controls, and connectivity.
- Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls, security policies, NAT, VPNs, and related network security technologies.
- Perform enterprise routing and switching configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and reliability across production environments.
- Perform network performance tuning and identify opportunities to improve network efficiency.
- Provide production support and participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Troubleshoot complex network connectivity, routing, switching, firewall, and cloud networking issues.
- Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, security, Dev Ops, and application teams to implement network solutions.
- Maintain network architecture diagrams, configuration standards, operational procedures, and technical documentation.
- Support network upgrades, migrations, technology refreshes, and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
- Follow network security best practices and enterprise change management processes.
Skills & Qualifications
- 6–8 years of experience in network engineering and enterprise infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on experience with Enterprise Routing & Switching.
- Strong experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and network security.
- Proven experience designing and supporting AWS Network Architecture.
- Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, data center networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network protocols.
- Experience with network performance monitoring and tuning.
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise network environments.
- Good understanding of Linux/Unix administration.
- Experience with Ansible for network automation.
- Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes networking.
- Experience automating network configuration and operational processes.
- Familiarity with AWS networking services such as VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, Load Balancers, and security controls.
- Scripting experience with Python or shell scripting is a plus.
