Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an Associate for our Medical Malpractice group. The candidate will work a hybrid schedule from Bedminster, NJ. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and research abilities, and prior exposure to litigation work.
Responsibilities- Support the defense of complex medical malpractice cases from inception through trial and appeal.
- Conduct case evaluations, develop litigation strategy, and advise clients on risk assessment and potential exposure.
- Draft and argue dispositive motions, prepare trial briefs, oversee discovery, including expert witness preparation.
- Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, depositions, hearings and trials.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Stay current on changes in healthcare law.
- Ability to travel for court, client meetings, etc.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule from the Bedminster, NJ office.
- 2-5 years of defense litigation experience, preferably in Medical Malpractice and/or General Liability.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active and good standing NJ bar license; required.
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Expertise in defense litigation.
- Experience reviewing complex medical records, expert testimony, and scientific evidence.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Prior experience representing hospitals, physicians, insurance companies or healthcare systems, preferred.
Salary is dependent on a variety of factors including education, experience and internal equity. Our good faith starting salary for the associate position is: $100,000+.
