We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join a premier aerospace manufacturing team in Morris County, NJ. In this role, you will lead the strategic procurement of critical aerospace components, raw materials, special processing services, and equipment that drive high-precision production, overhaul, and repair operations.

Key Responsibilities- Strategic Procurement: Analyze MRP requirements and lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for machined parts, forgings, castings, assemblies, raw materials, and outside processing.
- Supplier Management & Negotiation: Solicit quotes, perform cost/price analyses, negotiate terms, and partner with key suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness and on-time delivery.
- Compliance & Flow-Downs: Ensure purchase orders rigorously incorporate customer specs, engineering revisions,
AS9100/AS9102
, ITAR/EAR
, DFARS/FAR
, and DPAS priority ratings. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with Engineering and Quality to resolve nonconforming material reports (NCMRs), technical issues, and SCARs.
- Material Flow & Expediting: Proactively track lead times, manage shortages, and mitigate supply chain risks to prevent operational bottlenecks.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of purchasing/supply chain experience within an aerospace, defense, aviation, or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Technical
Skills: - Proven track record working with MRP/ERP systems.
- Deep familiarity with AS9100
, ITAR
, DFARS
, and DPAS regulations. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical blueprints.
- Strong negotiation, cost-analysis, and strategic sourcing capabilities.
- Export Control: Must be a U.S. Person eligible to access ITAR/EAR export-controlled technical data.
- Professional certifications (CPIM, CPSM, CSCP).
- Direct experience supporting military/defense programs or aerospace OEMs.
- Familiarity with precision machining, forgings, and complex aerospace assemblies.
- Competitive compensation ($105K – $115K) based on experience.
