SUMMARY
Congregation B'nai Tikvah, North Brunswick, seeks a motivated and committed individual with a strong work ethic, custodial and maintenance experience and good communication skills, to oversee the overall care, cleaning and maintenance of our building.
POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe custodian is responsible for performing a variety of tasks involving the general care of the building and grounds, including cleaning, maintenance, and light repairs, as well as setup and cleanup of programs and services, including some kitchen/food setup/cleanup.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Routine cleaning of all areas within the synagogue building, including offices, classrooms, sanctuary, restrooms, kitchens, and their fixtures.
- Set up rooms for events, meetings and programs, with tables and chairs, linens, portable sound systems, etc.
- Perform daily floor maintenance, including sweeping, vacuuming, and wet-mopping.
- Daily inspections of classrooms, including checking that windows are closed, thermostats are turned down, lights are off, etc.
- Keep an inventory of building maintenance and cleaning supplies, to review with Executive Diretor.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of custodial services experience.
- Detail oriented and ability to stay on task and stay organized.
- Current driver's license.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Reach and extend hand(s) and arm(s) in all directions.
- Bend, stoop, and kneel.
- Climb ladders.
- Lift and move loads up to 70lbs. Push and pull carts, weighing up to 100lbs.

COMPENSATIONThis is an hourly, part-time position, with the potential to become full-time. $16-$20/hr, depending on experience.
