Short Description- Inspects and performs minor maintenance and repair of electrical wiring circuits and equipment including pneumatic tube system.
- Inspects and performs minor maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Inspects and performs minor maintenance and repair of plumbing systems.
- Inspects and performs all phases of maintenance, renovations new construction and repair to the building systems in accordance with manufacturers specifications and established practices.
- Reads and interprets construction blueprints, manufacturer's instructions to construct and/or assemble or install new equipment.
- Observes and adheres to safety and other regulations and practices and contributes to a positive work climate and overall team effort of the department. To include lock-out/tag-out, confined space and MRI safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including responding to all codes and assisting in enforcing Hospital security rules and policies regarding restraints.
- Completes all safety educational requirements.
- Working knowledge of building systems and ability to read and use blueprints
- Skill and proficiency to read, write and perform mathematical calculations and measurements as normally required through official completion of high school or its equivalent.
- Demonstrate a level of competency in building construction, renovation, and repair, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and other related building systems
- Knowledge of local, state and national building codes and ordinances as they relate to a hospital facility and the ability to properly interpret them.
- Ability to move or lift tools and equipment in excess of 100 pounds on an occasional basis; frequent walking, sitting, climbing, bending and stooping.
- High school diploma required
- Completion of technical or vocational school preferred
Valid New Jersey Driver's license.
Special RequirementsExposure to outdoor weather conditions.
