Make a Visible Difference Every DayMacs Facility Solutions is seeking a dependable, energetic Day Porter/Cleaner to support the daily cleanliness and appearance of a school in Philadelphia’s 19154 ZIP code. This highly visible role is ideal for someone who takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors while responding quickly to cleaning needs throughout the school day.
What You’ll Do- Maintain clean, orderly, and presentable classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, cafeterias, and shared spaces.
- Perform routine cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and emptying trash and recycling.
- Monitor high-traffic areas and respond promptly to spills, messes, and other cleaning needs.
- Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
- Follow site procedures for safe use, storage, and handling of cleaning products and equipment.
- Communicate professionally in English and Spanish with school staff, and the Macs Facility Solutions team.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or supply needs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Required: Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
- Prior janitorial, custodial, day porter, or commercial cleaning experience.
- Preferred: Previous cleaning experience in a school or educational environment.
- Reliable attendance and availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Strong attention to detail, good judgment, and a service-focused attitude.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and manage changing priorities during the school day.
- Ability to perform the routine physical activities associated with custodial work and use standard cleaning equipment safely.
