Position Summary
As an Area Manager, you will communicate with individuals or groups verbally or in writing with customers, suppliers, and associates, implement the business plan for your area, manage staffing and scheduling, monitor productivity, maintain quality and safety standards, resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns, supervise and develop associates, build high‑performing teams, attract and retain talent, act with integrity, serve customers and members, and strive for continuous improvement.
ResponsibilitiesCommunicate with or to individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates). Implement the business plan by communicating goals, managing staffing, scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals. Monitor and manage productivity by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports. Maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on logistics and company policies and monitoring compliance.
Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns, listen, consult, and recommend corrective actions. Supervise and develop associates and leaders by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching, and modeling policies and procedures. Identify training and development needs, participate in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation. Build high‑performing teams, embrace diversity, create a culture of belonging, attract, develop, and retain talent.
Act with integrity by promoting the highest standards of ethics and compliance. Serve customers and members by delivering results, using data insights, balancing priorities, and applying EDLP/EDLC models. Strive for excellence by learning, taking calculated risks, encouraging continuous improvements, and adopting new technologies.
- Associate's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field and 1 year of supervisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field OR 1 year's Walmart Logistics Management experience OR 2 years' Walmart Logistics experience OR 2 years' supervisory experience.
- Must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Experience supervising associates.
- Experience with Walmart Logistics Systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Logistics.
