Maintenance Manager – JLL

Location:

On-site – Florence, NJ

Estimated compensation: $ – $ USD per year (range may differ; final compensation based on qualifications, market, etc.)

Travel: up to 20% at a minimum.

What this job involves

The Maintenance Manager will lead a multi-site team of maintenance associates, oversee Area Maintenance Managers as needed, and ensure a safe working environment for all.

What your day-to-day will look like
  • Support the Operations team in a safe, customer-focused manner; be highly self-motivated and customer-centric.
  • Develop and design innovative solutions to difficult problems, manage outside contractors, and be on call for emergencies.
  • Handle multiple internal and externally sponsored projects, meet deadlines, develop and track plans to accomplish departmental and distribution goals.
  • Work with local site Safety department leadership to understand, implement, and audit safety programs.
  • Ensure all safety programs and procedures are followed.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs and build good working relationships with operations leadership.
  • Facilitate technical and safety training and help develop professional development of departmental facilities associates.
  • Mentor all maintenance associates, motivating and providing direction to help them achieve their goals and go above and beyond.
  • Develop Maintenance department business plans and provide guidance and direction for successful implementation.
  • Work with site Finance team to develop, set and track budgets.
  • Participate in and support efficiency improvement Kaizen activities for the site and network when needed.
  • Develop capital spending plans, facilitate cross-functional project planning, and perform cost analysis.
  • Own and promote excellent housekeeping.
  • Participate in weekly network Maintenance calls and periodic Maintenance Manager off‑site conferences.
  • Provide specific, enriched feedback to enhance individual performance and prepare written performance appraisals, including discipline and up to termination.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil).
  • Ability to travel to various sites as needed.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the distribution or manufacturing field with equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field.
  • Experience in automated conveyor systems and controls; electrical and electronic principles; blueprint and electrical schematic reading; CMMS programs; preventive maintenance procedures; industrial electrical; industrial controls; industrial electronics; industrial PC literacy; N.E.C.
  • Ability to develop and maintain partnerships and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally with Safety, Operations, Engineering, Sr. Management, peers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize many different projects.
  • Six Sigma Certification.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
Physical Demands

Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking; lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally up to 49 pounds. Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, foot pedals, and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation). Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces.
