senior construction project manager - capital programs & site readiness
we are seeking an experienced construction project manager to lead large-scale capital projects supporting manufacturing expansion, facility upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and new product commercialization. This role is ideal for a strategic leader who thrives in fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environments and enjoys managing complex projects from concept through operational handoff.
as a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee a portfolio of capital projects, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure facilities, equipment, and operations are fully prepared for successful startup and long-term performance.
key responsibilities capital project leadership- manage multiple concurrent capital projects including facility expansions, infrastructure upgrades, and production capacity improvements.
- drive projects from planning and budgeting through execution, commissioning, and closeout.
- ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
- develop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk mitigation plans.
- partner with engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure operational readiness.
- lead commissioning, startup, qualification, training, maintenance planning, and project handoff activities.
- ensure seamless transition from project completion to stable production operations.
- serve as the primary liaison between internal leadership, engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and consultants.
- provide oversight of contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality, safety, and schedule compliance.
- resolve project challenges and drive cross-functional alignment to remove execution barriers.
- support capital planning, project prioritization, business case development, and investment decisions.
- align projects with long-term operational, reliability, and growth strategies.
- drive continuous improvement across project execution processes and standards.
- bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in capital project management, construction management, engineering, manufacturing operations, or facilities management.
- proven success leading major capex projects, facility expansions, and infrastructure improvements.
- strong background in project controls, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, risk management, and contractor oversight.
- experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders in a matrix organization.
- excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- experience in manufacturing, industrial, food production, pharmaceutical, chemical, packaging, or regulated environments.
- owner's representative experience.
- mechanical or electrical engineering background.
- experience managing commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities.
- pmp certification or equivalent project management credentials.
- lead high-impact capital projects that directly support business growth.
- manage a diverse portfolio of multi-million-dollar construction and infrastructure initiatives.

pay and benefits
the pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
