Role Description

The Business Unit Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Budd Lake, NJ, responsible for leading a business unit focused on aerospace, defense, and space products. This role oversees daily operations, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and performance management to ensure delivery on cost, quality, and schedule. The Business Unit Manager collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and sales teams to align product roadmaps with market needs and customer commitments.

Responsibilities include developing and executing growth strategies, managing key customer relationships, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and monitoring financial performance. The role also involves building and mentoring a high-performing team, setting clear goals, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and company policies.

Qualifications
  • Experience leading business units or comparable operations in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing, with strong skills in strategic planning and P&L management.
  • Proficiency in cross-functional collaboration, working closely with engineering, production, supply chain, and commercial teams to achieve shared objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement, operational efficiency, and quality initiatives within a technical or regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, including the ability to interpret financial and operational data.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to leadership and engaging with customers and partners.
  • Proven people leadership capabilities, including team development, performance management, and a commitment to inclusive and respectful workplaces.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean, Six Sigma) are beneficial.
  • Familiarity with aerospace and defense industry standards, regulatory requirements, and contract structures is a plus.
