The Machining Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the machine shop to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This role leads machinists and technicians, coordinates workflow, monitors equipment performance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

- Supervise and coordinate day‑to‑day machining operations
- Lead, train, and develop machinists, machine operators, and shop personnel to ensure high performance and technical competency
- Schedule work assignments, prioritize production jobs, and ensure on‑time delivery of components
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to verify production requirements
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and inspection procedures
Monitor machine performance, tooling requirements, and preventive maintenance schedules - Troubleshoot machining issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies; promote a culture of safety within the shop
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and purchasing departments to resolve production challenges
- Manage inventory of raw materials, tooling, and consumables
- Track production metrics, efficiency, scrap rates, and labor utilization to drive continuous improvement
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives and process optimization efforts
- Communicate effectively with vendors regarding tooling, equipment repairs, and service needs
