Job Summary
Under immediate supervision, working from blueprints, sketches, verbal and/or written specifications, operates manual or numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard sequences of operations. Sets up manual machines where speeds, feeds and sequence of tooling operations are ordinarily prescribed.

- Operates numerically controlled machines where programs are proved.
- Sets up and operates other manual machines in the work area and maintains tolerances by adjusting as necessary.
- Is responsible for inspecting the work to ensure it meets basic quality requirements.
- Can perform detailed sub-assembly functions for certain products.
- Operates automatic welding equipment.
- Uses required shop measuring devices.
- Sharpens drill tools on grinding wheel as necessary.
- Maintains good housekeeping in work area.
- May be required to perform other duties as directed by supervision.
- 5-7 years’ experience as a general machine shop operator and demonstrated skills.
- Familiar with Machine Shop procedures, special processes, and tooling.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
- All work is performed under the minimum supervision of the Manager and/or Supervisor, as required.
- Knowledge of Machining or Manufacturing operations is beneficial.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and typing.
