Join the Team Behind the Leotard Gymnasts Love Now Hiring:
Per Diem | Seamstress/Sewer

Plum is a New Jersey-based innovator in gymnastics apparel, proudly designing and producing colorful, comfortable, and affordable leotards that deliver confidence, durability, and style to athletes at every level. Founded in 2011, we believe every gymnast is a champion from day one—and we design our collections to celebrate that journey.

Our in-house Product Design and Production team is based in our New Jersey office, and much of our production takes place right here on the East Coast. We’re known for our limited-edition runs and quarterly product drops that keep gymnasts and pro shops stocked with trendy, ready-to-ship gear.

We’re currently seeking a Seamstress/Sewer to join our team. This role is responsible for sewing product samples and small production runs from provided patterns. Working closely with our design team, you’ll help refine patterns and ensure each garment is made with care, precision, and manufacturability in mind.

This position requires:
  • Strong sewing and garment construction skills
  • Attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Clear communication and a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to solve problems and adapt during the design process

At Plum, we don’t just make leotards—we celebrate the grit, grace, and growth of every athlete who wears them. Join us in shaping what confidence looks like.

Essential Job Functions
  • Construct top-quality sample garments of new and current design samples.
  • Construct top-quality small production runs.
  • Sew using industrial sewing machines: straight-needle, serger, double-needle, and cover-stitch machines.
  • Sew different hems, pockets, shirring, and setting binding with rubber or elastics.
  • Understand design specifications and the ability to read tech packs to determine the step‑by‑step order of operations needed to execute.
  • Work closely with the design development team to provide input and suggestions to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Measuring garment specifications
  • Support the team as needed with areas such as fit, measurements, specs, construction, and other related tasks.
  • Partner with the design development team to ensure overall fit is consistent and aligned with the brand’s requirements.
