2rd Shift Tape Machine Operator

Overview

TE Wire & Cable LLC is part of Marmon Holdings, backed by Berkshire Hathaway. We are seeking a 2nd Shift Tape Machine Operator (M-F 2nd Shift work 3:30PM – 12:00AM). Previous extrusion or wire and cable experience is highly preferred.

Set up and operate machines to apply various types and sizes of tape to bare or insulated conductors.

• Set up reels of wire into the payoff stands and empty reels onto the take-up reels.
• Lace wire through the machine, oven, capstan, spark tester, and onto the take-up reel.
• Load tapes onto taping heads and drain wire when applicable per job requirements.
• Set oven controllers to required temperatures per specifications (if applicable).
• Start machines and check tape lay for proper application.
• Set spark tester at specification voltage and run wire to required footage.
• Maintain quality standards and run machines at specification speeds.
• Make all necessary repairs to faults or damaged material per specifications.
• Follow all instructions and perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.

• Some manufacturing or production experience preferred (training provided the right candidate).
• Previous extrusion or wire and cable experience is a plus.
• Basic math skills (addition and subtraction).
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
