Job Summary:
Responsible for inspection of first production articles, in-process and final products using open set‑up, CMM and inspection methods and techniques in accordance with drawing requirements and specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings using geometric dimensioning and tolerances including maximum material condition.
- Perform visual inspection of workmanship, dimensions, coatings, and material.
- Inspect product per drawing requirement and specs using standard measuring equipment.
- Perform inspections of raw materials and finished products, applying appropriate quality assurance testing models.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports.
- Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- Perform small hand tool calibration.
- Collect and tabulate data for SPC use.
- Liaise with quality personnel to support the inspection program.
- Communicate inspection status with team members.
- Participate in root cause, corrective and preventive action program.
- Other duties as directed by management.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work in a team and individually.
- Ability to positively influence others and create a passion for excellence.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings using GD&T.
- Strong understanding of GD&T.
- Inspect detail parts per drawing requirement and specs using industry-standard measuring equipment.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports.
- Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines.
- Perform small hand tool calibration.
- Collect and tabulate data for SPC use.
- Other duties as directed by management.
- Experience in basic and advanced inspection techniques using various inspection tools and methodologies.
- High school graduate.
- 3‑5 years mechanical inspection, manufacturing experience.
- Post-high school education in math, engineering, inspection techniques or related fields is a plus.
