Overview
The Entry-Level Product Engineer supports manufacturing and aerospace operations by assisting in process optimization, production troubleshooting, continuous improvement initiatives, assembly, and testing of valves. This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while developing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities- Assemble and test aerospace valves
- Assist in executing, monitoring, and improving daily production processes
- Collect, analyze, and report production data (efficiency, yield, downtime, scrap)
- Support troubleshooting of equipment and process-related issues
- Help document standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flows
- Participate in continuous improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
- Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
- Work closely with technicians, quality, and senior engineers
- Support new product or process introductions under supervision
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Production, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or related field)
- Internship, co-op, or project experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Basic understanding of manufacturing principles and production processes
- Strong willingness to learn and work in hands-on production settings
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts
- Familiarity with CAD tools, ERP systems, or basic automation concepts
- Basic knowledge of quality tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, SPC)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively on the shop floor
- On-the-job training with experienced engineers and supervisors
- Exposure to manufacturing equipment, processes, and production systems
- Opportunities to earn Lean or Six Sigma certification
- Gradual increase in responsibility with performance and experience
- Manufacturing or production facility
- Combination of office work and shop-floor presence
- May involve standing for extended periods and wearing PPE
