Role OverviewThe Compression and Encapsulation Operator is responsible for the operation and set-up of tablet compression machines and automatic capsule filling machines in accordance with company SOPs and cGMP regulations to ensure products meet applicable quality standards. The position includes set-up, operation, cleaning, and light mechanical adjustments. The Operator is accountable for overall production line performance including safety, quality, shrink, attainment, and line efficiency.
Areasof Responsibility
- Operate and set‑up tablet compression and capsule filling machines.
- Perform cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembly of equipment.
- Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain quality and quantity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GMP, and SOPs; complete and sign operation logs and batch records.
- Inspect product and conduct required sampling and testing.
- Use problem‑solving skills to identify, troubleshoot, and report product issues.
- Cross‑train in other areas to support manufacturing processes.
- Maintain safety and hygiene, follow gowning procedures, and wear required PPE.
- Work extended hours and weekend overtime when required.
- Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor.
Level 1
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- 1–2 years Compression/Encapsulation Operator experience.
- Pay Rate $19.00–$23.00.
Level 2
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- 2–4 years Compression/Encapsulation Operator experience.
- Pay Rate $22.00–$32.00.
Level 3
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- 5+ years experience; operate all machines.
- High level of skill in tablet press and encapsulator setup and operation; work independently.
- Pay Rate $24.00–$33.00.
- No certifications required.
- Skills:
Teamwork, attention to detail, cGMP and OSHA knowledge, mechanical aptitude, basic English reading and writing. - Physical:
Lift up to 50 lbs regularly, 75 lbs occasionally; stand/walk 6 hrs, use hands for controls, bend, kneel, work near equipment; wear full PPE. - Work Environment:
Manufacturing setting, moderate temperatures, exposure to dust, odors, noise, fumes, chemicals, cleaning agents.
- Work safely to maintain an injury‑free workplace.
- Comply with all safety and training requirements.
- Inform management of area activities and significant problems.
