Job Purpose
Operate production machinery safely and efficiently; maintain accurate documentation; communicate ideas and problems to appropriate staff; perform scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs; participate in production equipment changeovers; produce a high‑quality product.
Safety- Follow all employer safety and health regulations, company policies, procedures and practices.
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of all downstream equipment to meet or exceed company safety culture.
- Follow Lock out/Block Out/Tag out policy and wear required PPE.
- Be proactive in addressing unsafe conditions and confronting unsafe behaviors.
- Report all unsafe acts or conditions immediately to Shift Production Supervisor.
- Participate in and/or conduct safety training as scheduled.
- Skilled understanding and experience operating machinery.
- Exemplify leadership on and off the production floor.
- Train new and existing employees on operations procedures.
- Thoroughly understand entire operations processes from start to finish.
- Monitor and explain deviations from expected OEE.
- Complete machine and task‑specific training as documented on the Operator Development Plan.
- Perform operator checklists and data collection of quality measurements.
- Correct deviations from quality standards to meet specifications.
- Monitor and respond to deviations within SPC charting.
- Communicate problems, progress reports, and continuous improvement ideas to management, maintenance, and production personnel.
- Perform maintenance tasks as outlined by the Maintenance Manager and in response to machine malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot machine and process issues.
- Maintain accurate production reporting documentation.
- Participate actively in plant teams and activities (safety, quality, sustainability, community involvement, OEE, maintenance, employee wellness, brainstorming, continuous improvement).
- Operate Powered Industrial Truck, Boom Lift, and Scissor Lift per OSHA regulations, rules, and guidelines.
- Produce and/or pack the best quality product at all times, meeting or exceeding company expectations and customer quality expectations.
- Label and/or tag all production and maintain raw and packaging material traceability by recording lot codes as required.
- Isolate and track all non‑conforming products and materials.
- Perform quality and downstream testing and measurements, and record results in the specified system or form.
- Communicate out‑of‑specification conditions, food safety and food defense issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow all GMP, personnel practices, HACCP, and prerequisite food safety programs.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area through effective housekeeping, sanitization, and waste management practices.
- Prevent foreign material contamination.
- Perform scheduled production equipment changeovers as outlined by the plant production schedule.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks as outlined by the plant PM program.
- Manage preventive maintenance tasks in Computerized Maintenance Management Software, including generating work orders.
- Proactively address machine inefficiencies during preventive maintenance.
- Ensure equipment is clean and in ‘showroom condition’ after preventive maintenance.
- Continually evaluate equipment for improvement areas.
- Tag components or parts that need repair, replacement or improvement.
- Record parts removed from inventory on appropriate documentation and CMMS and notify Maintenance Manager when inventory becomes low or reaches a reorder point.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Successfully complete entrance examinations and interviews.
- Possess sense of urgency, accountability, business ethics, professionalism, self‑motivation and desire to improve the business.
- May be required to act as Person In Charge in the absence of a member of management.
- Can come to work promptly and regularly; take direction and work well with others; work under stress of deadlines; concentrate and perform accurately; react to change productively; handle multiple tasks.
Physical activity: climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, fingering, talking, hearing, repetitive motion, vision, exertion. Environmental conditions include extreme heat, noise, vibrations, exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation, oils, and 10–50 pounds of force as described in the original material.

Pay Range$21.15 – $31.10 per hour.
