Position OverviewOur client is a global designer and manufacturer of high-performance lifting and pulling equipment used in military and civilian aircraft, including rescue hoists, winches, and cargo hooks. The company is known for producing mission-critical products where quality, reliability, and on-time delivery are essential.
We are seeking an experienced Materials Manager
- Production Planner to manage production planning, material requirements, inventory, and scheduling in a manufacturing environment. This position will play an important role in ensuring customer delivery commitments are met while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and maximizing manufacturing resources.
The Materials Manager will work closely with Operations, Purchasing, Contracts, and Supply Chain to develop and execute production plans that support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage production plans to meet customer delivery commitments and inventory objectives.
- Analyze production requirements and optimize MRP planning parameters to align planned orders with future demand.
- Create efficient production schedules that maximize resource utilization and inventory turnover.
- Release and schedule lower-level assemblies to support upper-level production requirements.
- Review and act on MRP recommendations, including rescheduling, expediting, and deferring orders.
- Adjust production plans in response to customer demand changes, priorities, cancellations, and schedule revisions.
- Partner with Purchasing and Supply Chain to ensure material availability and supplier alignment.
- Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) to ensure production orders are completed on schedule.
- Collaborate with Operations and Sales to develop monthly production forecasts.
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and inventory control initiatives.
- Help resolve material shortages, inventory issues, and production constraints.
- Verify routings, drawings, and product structures as needed to support effective planning.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing product planning from design through procurement, fabrication, assembly, testing, packaging, and shipment.
- Strong understanding of Bills of Material (BOMs) and material planning processes.
- Experience working with a fully integrated ERP/MRP system.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work with urgency and make timely, effective decisions.
- Strong critical-thinking and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and solve complex production challenges.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications
Required
