The Junior Technical Design Manager supports the Technical Design team in the development, fit approval, sample management, and production execution of Capelli Sport apparel and field items. This role assists in coordinating communication between design, production, sales, and overseas factories to ensure products meet company standards, timelines, and customer expectations. This is a salary-based role with a minimum of 40 hours per week required.
Sample& Product Development Support
- Assist with coordinating DVP sample requests and tracking sample status.
- Follow up with factories regarding sample development and delivery timelines.
- Review samples for construction, measurements, decoration placement, and quality standards.
- Maintain records of sample approvals, comments, and revisions in PLM and company databases.
- Support the Senior Technical Design Manager in communicating approvals and revisions to factories.
- Assist in reviewing fit samples and size sets.
- Measure garments and verify specifications against approved standards.
- Document fit comments and upload revisions into PLM.
- Help maintain size-set tracking reports and sample libraries.
- Track PP and TOP samples to ensure timely review and approval.
- Enter comments and measurements into PLM.
- Coordinate with production teams regarding sample status and approvals.
- Escalate issues or delays to management as needed.
- Update and maintain tech packs, colorways, specifications, and product details.
- Ensure factories have current technical information and approved mechanicals.
- Assist with reviewing mechanicals for accuracy and consistency.
- Support creation and maintenance of style numbers and product classifications.
- Coordinate with design and art teams on product setup and mechanical approvals.
- Maintain organized product records and approval documentation.
- Assist with reviewing lab dips, fabrics, trims, and decoration samples.
- Maintain fabric and trim approval records.
- Support sourcing initiatives by tracking submissions and approvals.
- Maintain sample charts, approval trackers, and production status reports.
- Organize files, images, approvals, and technical records.
- Generate weekly updates for management regarding sample and production status.
- Communicate with Sales, Design, Production, and Factory partners regarding product updates.
- Assist in troubleshooting product, fit, and production issues.
- Support implementation of corrective actions and process improvements.
- 2–5 years of experience in apparel technical design, product development, or production.
- Knowledge of garment construction, fit evaluation, and apparel manufacturing.
