SUMMARY:
The Machine Operator I is responsible for performing the essential manufacturing steps of part trimming and drilling, meeting daily production needs in manufacturing quality parts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Trim plated parts to print specifications utilizing manual and programmable Lathes.
- Core drill parts using equipment including manual drill presses, lathes and programmable HAAS Drilling machines
- Performs preventative maintenance including fluid changes, lubrication and cleaning of machines when needed/directed by the Lead / Supervisor
- Accurately record production information on paper travellers and in the ERP system
- Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.
- Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs.
- Performs variety of tasks such as counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, transferring of parts
- Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances
- Follows schedules and procedures
- Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training
- Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition
- Assists other operators if necessary
- Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or work instructions. Responsible for quality of own work; required to notify Supervisor or Lead if quality requirement is unclear or questionable
- All other duties as assigned
SKILLS &
COMPETENCIES:
- Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specification sheets, and/or mechanical drawings and in precision measurement or become proficient through training.
- Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, comparator, height gauge, etc.
- Capable of using hand tools (i.e. screwdriver, wrenches etc.)
- Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.

SALARY RANGE:
$18.00 - $21.00/Hour based on experience and ability to perform work independently.
