Major FunctionsUnder the direction of the Conference & Events Planning (CEP) Manager, the Continuing Education and Special Events Coordinator (CE Coordinator) supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of continuing education programs and chapter events for the NASW New Jersey Chapter.
This role manages program and event logistics, registration processes, documentation, and compliance requirements to ensure high-quality professional development experiences and successful chapter events. The CE Coordinator works under the direction of the Conference & Events Planning Manager and collaborates with chapter staff, speakers, and vendors to deliver conferences, trainings, and special initiatives that advance member engagement and continuing education access.
Basic Duties and ResponsibilitiesContinuing Education Program Coordination:
- Coordinates logistics for continuing education programs, webinars, and trainings.
- Manages registrations, confirmations, and participant communications.
- Tracks attendance and prepares CE certificates and documentation.
- Maintains CE records in compliance with New Jersey licensing requirements.
- Supports speaker coordination, materials collection, and program setup.
- Assists with program evaluations and feedback tracking.
Conference and Special Events Support:
- Supports planning and execution of the annual conference and chapter events.
- Coordinates venue, vendor, and logistical arrangements under manager direction.
- Manages event registration systems and attendee communications.
- Prepares event materials, signage, and on-site coordination needs.
- Supports event timelines, run‑of‑show execution, and post‑event follow‑up.
- Assists with sponsorship and exhibitor logistics.

Experience:
- Provides responsive support to CE participants and event attendees.
- Ensures a smooth participant experience from registration through completion.
- Supports accessibility and accommodation requests.
- Assists with promotion of CE programs and events.
Skills:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to build trust and collaborate across sectors and with diverse stakeholders.
- Critical thinking, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
- This position requires the ability to routinely travel to the Princeton, NJ office and throughout the state, as needed.
Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, public policy or related field required (social work preferred).
- Experience in nonprofit, association, or professional membership organization leadership.
- Knowledge of New Jersey’s continuing education administration and compliance.
- Demonstrated operational and program management experience.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in operational administration, continuing education program management, or a related field.
- Experience planning events, workshops, or trainings is a plus.
- Experience with budgeting is a plus.
