Licensed Practical Nurse Per Diem – UCHC BSP (Multiple Vacancies)

Position:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care on a per‑diem basis at Bayside State Prison, Leesburg, NJ. Reports to a Registered Nurse and works within the University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) system at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

• Participate in data collection regarding patient status and provide input to the RN for care plan development.
• Deliver direct patient care in scope of practice and perform nursing treatments and procedures per established guidelines.
• Educate patients and significant others on health status and care plans.
• Assist patients and families in discharge planning and home health maintenance.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately.

• Valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and possession of a vehicle or alternate transportation to move between sites.
• Preferred: at least six months of acute hospital experience.

• Perform CPR for at least 10 minutes when required.
• Assist in lifting and rotating patients who cannot ambulate (up to 50 lbs).
• Must be approved by the Department of Corrections and comply with all DOC requirements.

• Hourly wage: $29.00.
