Summary

Active member of the Resident Care Team who assists the Resident Care Director with community management. Responsibilities include supervising Resident Care Associates, monitoring residents’ health needs, covering staffing as needed, supporting on‑call duties, and following up on family issues as directed by the Resident Care Director.

Essential Job Functions
  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co‑workers and the surrounding community.
  • Grow community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members, and professionals.
  • Assist with evaluating resident needs and revising service plans per state regulatory requirements.
  • Understand pathophysiological and psychosocial changes associated with aging and disabilities.
  • Direct and supervise daily work assignments of resident care associates.
  • Evaluate residents’ medical concerns and discuss with ED, family, and MD as appropriate.
  • Encourage teamwork across departments to eliminate or correct problem areas and improve services.
  • Monitor resident care associates’ compliance with infection control/sharps disposal program.
  • Participate in community marketing efforts.
  • Provide direct care to residents on an as‑needed basis.
  • Support resident care associates with assignment questions, concerns, and emergency situations.
  • Ensure staffing and schedules are met, including backup coverage.
  • Complete and review incident/accident reports; implement changes through proper channels to minimize future issues and ensure state compliance reporting.
  • Assist the Resident Care Director with required documentation for LCB Senior Living or state requirements.
  • With written physician orders, administer topical and oral medications, ear and eye drops (LMA in Massachusetts), and injectables where regulations allow.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Physical and Environmental Demands

    Finger and hand dexterity; visual and auditory acuity; ability to lift at least 15lbs.; push/pull carts; continuous walking, sitting, and standing; turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, reach above shoulder height; good body mechanics; neat and well groomed; positive attitude toward service provided.

    Qualifications
    • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
      Professional knowledge and skills to plan the Resident Care Department per current state, federal and local standards. Effective communication in English, both orally and in writing, is essential. Ability to lift, bend and stand for extended periods.
    • Education:

      High school diploma and graduation from an accredited nursing program.
    • Experience:

      At least two years in a geriatric setting and prior health experience in hospital and/or community setting.
    • Certificates/Licenses:
      Current RN or LPN license in the state of employment.
