Our privately/employee-owned facility offers 24/7 emergency and critical care, along with cardiology, dentistry, internal medicine, oncology, surgery, and neurology services. The Role:

The Learning and Development Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs for all hospital staff. This role ensures that employees are well-trained, knowledgeable, and compliant with hospital policies and industry standards. Collaborate with the Nursing Manager, Employee Experience Manager and other members of leadership to facilitate employee training and onboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for new hires and ongoing staff development.

Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and consultations with department heads.

Source and update training materials, manuals, and resources.

Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars on various topics, including clinical procedures, customer service, and safety protocols.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making adjustments as needed.

Maintain accurate records of training activities and employee progress.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Collaborate with other departments to identify and address training needs.

Collaborate with the Employee Experience Manager on projects and hospital goals.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Familiarity with adult learning principles and training methodologies.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, Education, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical or veterinary healthcare industry, with at least 2 years in a training or supervisory role.

Certification in training and development is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.

Ability to conduct training sessions in various settings, including clinical environments.

Exposure to animals, including those that may be sick or injured.
