Where are we?New Jersey is the east coast’s best kept secret, with our headquarters located in the idyllic countryside of Hunterdon County. The area offers easy access to New York City, Philadelphia, and the Jersey Shore along with hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, and riding trails and endless outdoor activities. Most staff live within a 30 minute drive of the practice and are able to commute without taking major highways.
For those raising a family, a number of schools in the area offer award winning school systems.
As we have recently expanded our reproductive services, we are looking to immediately fill the role of an ambulatory technician for one of our reproduction veterinarians. Ambulatory Technicians assist veterinarians during farm visits in a number of ways: handling horses, setting up veterinary equipment, managing truck inventory, preparing patients for procedures, and billing. This position is well suited for someone with a background working in large equine barn settings, experience assisting veterinarians, or a licensed veterinary technician.
We are happy to provide training for the right person; someone who has exceptional horsemanship and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have a background in reproductive services, enjoy working closely with veterinarians and learning something new every day, and will have a passion for providing world class care for our patients and clients. We ask that you are dependable, responsible, and willing to work hard.
The schedule for this position is 5 days a week, for approximately 40-45 hours a week. Flexibility is necessary in order to accommodate staffing needs. Applicants should expect that peak hours will correspond with breeding season, which runs from approximately March through August. The position is full time and based year round in Oldwick, NJ. In the off-season (Sept-Feb) there will be opportunities to assist in various departments such as the hospital and imaging.
As the needs of the practice fluctuates, the technician will have the opportunity to assist other veterinarians.
