Job Description
Position:
Nuclear Technologist – Cardiac Nuclear Stress Studies in the Cardiovascular Imaging Outpatient Departments of Atlantic Health System. The role is performed at off‑site imaging centers affiliated with Morristown Medical Center and other physician‑aligned practices, with flexible hours that may vary with clinical demand.
- Mix stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate and administer doses under physician direction.
- Calibrate equipment.
- Perform diagnostic cardiac nuclear stress studies using scanners or scintillation cameras, detect radiation, and produce organ images on photographic film.
- Measure radioactivity with Geiger counters, scalers, and detectors.
- Administer therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under physician direction.
- Follow radiation safety techniques and manage disposal of radioactive materials.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of Nuclear Medicine (required).
- Certification related to nuclear technology and/or an Associate’s or technical degree in a related field (preferred).
- Prior office‑based nuclear technology experience preferred.
- Valid state and/or national licenses and certifications required to perform duties.
