Job Description
AHS's Cardiovascular Imaging Outpatient Departments currently has an opening for a Nuclear Technologist. The selected candidate will perform Cardiac Nuclear Stress studies in accordance with established departmental protocols and policies. This position works within hours and in off‑site imaging centers affiliated with Morristown Medical Center/Atlantic Health System and other physician‑aligned practices.
Principal Accountabilities- Mix stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses under the direction of a physician.
- Calibrate equipment.
- Perform diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by a physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect emitted radiation and produce organ images on photographic film.
- Measure radioactivity using Geiger counters, scintillation detectors, and scalers.
- Administer therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of a physician.
- Follow radiation safety techniques for the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of Nuclear Medicine (required).
- Employment history in an office‑based setting is preferred; specific certification related to the position or an associate’s/technical degree in a related field.
- All required state and/or national licenses and certifications to fulfill technologist duties.
- Minimum Salary (Hourly Rate): $48.00
- Maximum Salary (Hourly Rate): $84.50
