Short DescriptionResponsible for screening, evaluation, and accurate reporting of all GYN and non-GYN cytologic specimens including thin prep preparations (CYTYC).
Experience Required- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Cytotechnologist in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting
- Proficiency in screening and interpreting cytology specimens, including Pap smears, non-gynecological specimens, and body fluids
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working with delicate specimens
- Excellent knowledge of cytological criteria, classification systems, and quality assurance measures
- Familiarity with Meditech,Soarianand other relevant software applications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Abilityto work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle a high volume of cases efficiently
- Experience in high-volume cytology laboratories
- Rapid On-Site Evaluation (ROSE) experience
- Experience with Thin Prep®, Sure Path®, digital cytology imaging systems, or similar platforms
- Prior exposure to CAP and/or Joint Commission inspections
- Bachelors degree in Cytotechnology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Graduation from a CAAHEP‑accredited cytotechnology program(or another program accepted by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners)
- Education must meet CLIA high‑complexity testing personnel standards
- Active, unrestricted New Jersey Cytotechnologist License
- National certification in cytotechnology, such as: CT (ASCP) or another nationally recognized certifying body accepted by NJ and CLIA
- Must maintain licensure and certification in good standing throughout employment
