The Quality Technician is responsible for the inspection of product within the plant, and assures that non-conforming issues are addressed to appropriate management. The Quality Technician maintains authority to accept or reject products as necessary, ensures causes are identified, and that follow-up activities occur with responsible internal parties and/or vendors to minimize impact and prevent recurrence. The Quality Technician participates in continuous improvement activities to drive improvements in quality effectiveness.
It is the responsibility of the Quality Technician to promote a quality mindset throughout the organization.
- Perform first piece and final piece inspections, and other inspections as assigned.
- Conduct AQL incoming inspections and testing and ensure that all DTQ requirements are met and associated documentation is recorded and properly stored.
- Generate non-conformance reports for incoming and in-process materials as needed.
- Nonconformance Reporting (NCRs)
- Ensure NCRs are clearly and effectively generated and communicated to the appropriate team members.
- Support the management of the calibration program. Send equipment to approved service provider(s), and maintain and review all associated documentation.
- Return Goods Authorization (RGA)
- Inspect incoming return goods and assist with evaluation, disposition and investigation.
- Support the generation and distribution of Certificates of Conformance as well as other documentation control related tasks, as assigned.
- Receive, review and file Vendor Certificates of Conformance / Certificates of Analysis.
- Maintain the material preservation program. Review documentation regarding use of materials, proper documentation techniques on Traceability reports, and perform AG-1 inspections as required.
- Internal Audits
- Review areas as per the schedule, assist with conducting and documenting audits.
- Supplier Audits/Supplier Evaluation - work with the Quality Auditor to maintain the supplier audit schedule.
- Assure programs, procedures and documentation are carried out correctly.

Qualifications- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Must possess good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Must be familiar with measuring tools such as:
Calipers, Micrometers, Tape Measures, Taper Gauge
BA / BS from accredited school preferred, Minimum High School Diploma and equivalent experience of 5-10 years in quality and/or regulatory field.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Shop orders, product specifications, engineering drawings and contract reviews. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to communicate effectively to customers, auditors, management and employees of organization.
Mathematical SkillsBasic skills in mathematics and statistics required.
Reasoning AbilityStrong problem-solving skills required.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to both office and plant surroundings. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; certain areas require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
