Laboratory Technician I

We're seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Laboratory Technician I to support daily operations in a GLP-compliant lab. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for recent life sciences graduates or individuals with foundational lab experience to gain hands-on exposure to environmental fate, metabolism, and analytical studies.

The Role:
What You'll Do As a Laboratory Technician I, you'll support scientific staff by performing routine lab tasks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Lab Operations:
Perform daily laboratory duties including weighing, sample extraction, separation, and concentration under the direction of scientific staff. - Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all laboratory safety practices, GLP regulations, and government guidelines. - Documentation:
Accurately document all work performed and maintain compliance with SOPs. - Communication:
Collaborate effectively with laboratory staff and scientists; provide clear verbal and written updates. - Lab Maintenance:
Prepare routine solutions, wash glassware, organize supplies, and maintain overall lab cleanliness and functionality. - Equipment Support:
Perform routine calibration and maintenance of lab equipment as needed. - Training:
Receive required training in GLPs, Radioactive Safety, USDA Regulated Soil, and SOPs to support basic laboratory work.
Physical & Environmental Requirements This is an active, on-site lab role with routine physical demands.
- Mobility:
Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the lab frequently. - Lifting:
Occasional lifting of lab materials and equipment (up to 25 lbs). - Environment:
Work with hazardous chemicals and biological materials in a regulated laboratory setting.
Qualifications We're looking for candidates who meet one of the following:
- Education:
High School diploma or equivalent with a strong interest in life sciences. - Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, etc.) with 0–2 years of experience. - Experience:
Prior lab or analytical setting experience is a plus but not required.
Core Skills
- Ability to follow SOPs, policies, and GLP regulations with precision.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to experimental detail and ability to execute scientific procedures.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
- Willingness to learn and become self-sufficient in daily lab responsibilities.
- Ability to perform routine equipment calibration and maintenance.
