Our client, in consumer goods industry, is seeking an R&D Lab Assistant - Analytical Chemistry join their team. The ideal candidate will have organizational, multi-task skills to display a degree of flexibility regarding changing task priorities which will align successfully in the organization.

R&D Lab Assistant - Analytical Chemistry

Location:

Montvale NJ (fully onsite) Pay Range: $28- $32 hourly 10 Month Contract Full Time - 35 hours per week, M-F Day Shift What’s the Job?
  • Support formulation and development of new products and technologies, leveraging consumer insights and leading R&D activities on cross‑functional project teams.
  • Conduct routine evaluation and testing of prototypes, commercial products, first production samples, and cost‑improvement initiatives, interpreting laboratory results to guide decisions.
  • Provide technical support to Regional Innovation, Operations, and Supply teams, including quality improvements, production startups, and responses to consumer complaints or regulatory inquiries.
  • Maintain laboratory operations—equipment, supplies, documentation, and compliance with SOP/ISO/GLP standards—ensuring accurate data generation and safe work practices.
  • Prepare technical reports and independently manage multiple project objectives while communicating effectively with various levels of management.
What’s Needed?
  • BS/BA in Chemistry or Material Sciences is preferred or an Associate Degree in Chemistry with minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in an R&D analytical laboratory setting.
  • Experience with formulation and/or new product development
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment;
    Detail-oriented and self-motivating, seeking information from others to accomplish objectives.
  • Knowledge of LIMS labware Software applications is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of analytical chemistry and its related technologies, such as LC, GC, FTIR, and wet chemistry techniques is desirable
