RETAIL RECEIVING CLERK Main responsibilities
- Receive all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and individual vendor deliveries.
- Verify accuracy of invoices and ensure proper documentation.
- Maintain cost, quality, and inventory control through auditing and electronic systems.
- Organize and maintain the receiving, storage, and loading dock areas.
- Handle damaged or spoiled products, including repair, pricing, or return.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, balers, compactors, and hand-held devices.
- Train employees on store policies and record-keeping procedures.
- Maintain accurate department records and comply with company policies.
- Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
- Implement emergency procedures for equipment or software malfunctions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional demeanor with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Organizational skills for managing inventory and records.
- Problem-solving abilities in handling discrepancies and equipment issues.
- Basic mathematics and weights/measures.
- Product variety, perishability, and handling standards.
- Company policies and procedures related to receiving and inventory.
- Lift and maneuver items up to 60 lbs.
- Operate various equipment safely and efficiently.
- Stand for long periods and perform repetitive movements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Occasional travel, including overnight travel, may be required.
- Must comply with grooming and dress code standards.
- Good attendance and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
