Job Description
The Neuroscience Sales Specialist will support the CAPLYTA® commercial team in the Torrance, CA territory, covering Long Beach, West Los Angeles, and Inglewood. The role is responsible for meeting or exceeding sales expectations within the assigned geographies in an ethical and compliant manner, while delivering superior product and disease state knowledge to healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities- Drive sales performance to ensure forecasts are met or exceeded by calling on HCP offices, mental health community centers, and other healthcare providers in‑person and virtually.
- Effectively use assigned budgets to achieve territory objectives.
- Customize discussions and client interactions based on customer needs in a compliant and ethical manner.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the local market, practice structures, evolving customers, and key influencers, sharing insights with internal stakeholders.
- Provide input into resource allocation decisions and help define programs/resources for each customer, practice, or system.
- Work with the Regional Business Manager and key stakeholders to develop a local business plan that ensures achievement of all business objectives.
- Capitalize on formulary approvals and other business opportunities through the implementation of the strategic plan.
- Collaborate with other Neuroscience Sales Specialists on common objectives and best‑practice sharing.
- Maintain timely and accurate administrative records of work hours, sales call data, customer objectives, communication responses, inventory, and expense reporting.
- Complete all company‑ and job‑related training within the required timelines.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in healthcare sales, account management, business‑to‑business sales, or a recent transition from active‑duty military.
- Three (3) or more years of sales experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, with launch, antipsychotic, or bipolar sales experience highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Strong desire and passion for improving the lives of patients and their caregivers, with patient‑centricity as a core value.
- High integrity and strict adherence to compliance policies and procedures.
- Self‑motivation, initiative, entrepreneurial mindset, excellent decision‑making judgment, and strong teamwork/collaboration skills.
- Proven track record of learning and adapting to evolving environments, including the COVID‑19 pandemic.
- Ability to analyze data and metrics to assess progress, diagnose performance issues, and identify new opportunities.
- Experience establishing new customer relationships and communicating technical information to diverse audiences.
- Willingness to travel as required, including overnight trips and periodic visits to corporate headquarters and sales meetings.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
$79,000 - $155,000 annually.
