Overview
Seasonal Marine Field Worker position with the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, Haskin Shellfish Research Laboratory, Port Norris, New Jersey. The role includes field work in Delaware Bay oyster fishery and laboratory processing of oyster dredge samples.
Responsibilities- Assist with monitoring of Delaware Bay oyster fishery, including field collection aboard research and commercial fishing vessels and laboratory processing (measuring, shucking, oyster disease/pathology analysis) of oyster dredge samples.
- Perform data entry and audit associated with these tasks.
- Provide support as needed to additional projects by assisting with tasks such as animal care, video analysis, and Living Shoreline installation.
- Minimum:
High school or vocational school education or equivalent experience. - Required:
Attention to detail; accurate and clear completion of detailed data sheets; computer knowledge, particularly Microsoft Excel. - Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field and/or scientific/technical laboratory training or research experience. - Preferred:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Salary: $15.92 – $18.00 per hour.
