The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions.
We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Seasonal Agriculture Worker for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. This position is needed to assist in setting up experimental field plots in cranberry bogs and blueberry fields, as well as various types of specialty crops. The position will aid in data collection and data entry of field experiments throughout the growing season.
- Performs jobs such as weed ratings, fresh/dry weights of plant biomass, and harvest of different crops.
- Assists in greenhouse plant maintenance such as daily watering, pruning, and fertilizing plants.
- Aids in using and maintaining new technologies in the weed science department.
- Assists graduate students with projects or field work.

Salary Details$15.92 - $20.00 hourly

QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience
- High school/vocational school education or equivalent experience.
- A valid driver’s license would be required for this position.
- Knowledge of proper procedures and methods for field and laboratory experiments.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a group setting.
- Ability to work outdoors in the heat.
- This position is located in Chatsworth, NJ.
