Job Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Seasonal Marine Field Worker for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, Haskin Shellfish Research Laboratory, New Jersey Aquaculture Innovation Center in Cape May, New Jersey.

Key duties for this position include:

  • Performs microalgal culture.
  • Assists in spawning of bivalve mollusks.
  • Performs rearing of larvae and post‑set juveniles.
  • Maintains hatchery larval and downweller tanks, nursery upweller raceway tanks, and associated equipment.
Compensation

Hourly rate: $15.92 - $18.00 per hour. Final salary will be based on qualifications, experience, and available departmental or grant funds.

Work Arrangement

Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Day shift. Fully on‑site.

Qualifications

Minimum
:

  • High school or vocational school education, or equivalent experience.

Preferred
:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant laboratory or research experience.
