We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented scientist to join our team in the field of flavor and fragrance research. This role involves working on the isolation and concentration of flavor compounds from various food and beverage products. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of fragrance delivery technologies used in everyday consumer goods.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex technical work under the general direction of technical management, focusing on the isolation and concentration of flavor compounds using techniques such as solvent extractions (e.g., LLE), distillations, and headspace collections (e.g., SPME).
• Acquire, analyze, and develop skills in interpreting chromatographic data including GC-MS, HPLC, and LCMS.
• Document and record analytical data from flavor research projects accurately.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure the lab is in good working order.
• Follow good laboratory practices and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of a BS degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in a wet chemistry lab.
• Familiarity and interest in analytical separation and instrumentation.
• Familiarity and interest in the flavor and fragrance industry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• An MS degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a laboratory setting, handling complex equipment and performing analytical tasks. You will be part of a team that develops technologies used in consumer goods, which brings the satisfaction of seeing your work impact products on store shelves.

This is a Contract position based out of Union Beach, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.89 - $39.47/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
