Seasonal Marine Field Worker
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Seasonal Marine Field Worker for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, Haskin Shellfish Research Laboratory, Port Norris, New Jersey. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assists with monitoring of Delaware Bay oyster fishery. Monitors includes field collection aboard research and commercial fishing vessels as well as laboratory processing (measuring, shucking, oyster disease/pathology analysis) of oyster dredge samples. Performs data entry and audit associated with these tasks will also be required. Provides support as needed to additional projects by assisting with tasks like animal care, video analysis, and Living Shoreline installation.

Salary Details - $15.92 - $18.00 per hour

Minimum Education and Experience
- High school/vocational school education or equivalent experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Ability to accurately and clearly fill out detailed data sheets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biology or related field preferred and an interest in biology, and/or scientific/technical laboratory training or research experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to work in potentially adverse weather conditions. Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
