JL Dobbs Inc is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Truck and Crane Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining Tractors and Trailers, Diesel engines, All Terrain Cranes, Truck Cranes, Rough Terrain Cranes, Forklifts, etc. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Who we are:Dobbs Crane Rentals is a local crane rental company that provides crane rentals, trucking, rigging, and storage services to New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Northern Maryland, and New York.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintaining Tractors and Trailers, Diesel engines, All Terrain Cranes, Truck Cranes, Rough Terrain Cranes, Forklifts, etc.; including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Repairs: Conduct repairs on engines, brakes, transmissions, and other vehicle systems, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent on each job.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers and team members, providing updates on repair status and explaining necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Tool and Equipment Management: Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order and report any issues to management.
- Proven experience as a Heavy Truck and Crane Technician or in a similar role.
- Ability to operate Tractors, Trailers, Diesel engines and Forklifts.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Certification from a recognized automotive training program or equivalent experience is preferred.
