Industrial/Municipal Pump & Motor Mechanic – The Rapid Group

Rapid Pump & Meter Service Co./Machinery Services Co. is an electrical-mechanical contractor providing installation, service, and repair of process mechanical, electrical, and control systems on equipment used in the Industrial, Municipal Water and Wastewater, and Transportation sectors. We seek an experienced Field Service Technician to join our growing organization.

• Proven experience as a Service Technician/Pump Mechanic.
• Technical knowledge of pumps, motors, and related equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Experience with dismantling and assembling pumps and related equipment.
• Basic mechanic tools required up to one inch.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug test required.
• Must be able to secure a TWIC.
• Machine shop and electrical background a plus.

• Repair pumps and rotating equipment.
• Disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and service write-up.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems.
• In-house and field service repairs.
• Perform alignments on rotating equipment.
• Assemble pumps and equipment.
• Test completed repairs.
• Paint and prepare equipment for shipment.
• Operate forklift and other shop equipment.
• Pickup and deliver equipment to job sites.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour
