Monmouth University is seeking a Part‑Time Telecommunications Manager in the Information Operations Department. The successful candidate will administer and manage the telecommunication systems including Avaya IP Office, AVST voicemail, Teltronics Call Recording, Avotus Call Accounting and SPOK 911 systems, and supervise Telecommunications Staff. This is an in‑person, on‑campus, non‑remote position.
Duties and Responsibilities- Administration and management of telecommunication systems including Avaya IP Office, AVST voicemail, Teltronics Call Recording, Avotus Call Accounting and SPOK 911 systems.
- Supervision of telecommunications staff, backup operators and outside vendors.
- Procurement and administration of cellular telephone plans and devices.
- Consult with University personnel to determine current and future telecommunication needs.
- Work closely with Conference Services & Special Events to ensure telecommunication requirements are defined and delivered for both MU and non‑MU events on campus.
- Negotiate and monitor telecommunication service contracts.
- Oversee all incoming telecommunication bills and coordinate payment.
- Work with outside vendors on design, installation, and repair projects.
- Work with outside vendors to resolve telephone billing problems.
- Document and maintain all telephone records including caller .
- Other duties as assigned.
- Familiarity with Avaya telephone systems – especially IP Office and AVST Voice Mail.
- Familiarity with telephone call accounting software.
- Understanding of telephone cable plant systems.
- Availability to provide after‑hours coverage, as needed.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Five years working in the telecommunications industry on the technical side.
