Fire Sprinkler Fitter

Responsibilities

• Responsible for installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs of sprinkler/life safety systems.
• Review blueprints and drawings to determine system locations and placement.
• Ensure materials and equipment match scope of work and job sold.
• Install equipment according to national sprinkler and life safety codes and installation standards.
• Meet with building engineers, property management or site contacts.
• Verify integrity of all work prior to tying‑in to building’s sprinkler system.
• Repair as needed to ensure a fully compliant system operation.
• Provide documentation according to NFPA standards upon completion of work with additional sign‑off upon successful testing & certification.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Maintain assigned tools and equipment; report defects or problems immediately.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

• Minimum 5 years of sprinkler industry experience.
• NICET certification pursued and acquired within first year of employment and maintained while employed.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and customer service oriented.
• Good interpersonal skills, able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Flexible with scheduling; occasional evening, weekend and out‑of‑town assignments.
• Ability to display knowledge of codes, regulations and inspection programs; interpret and explain applicable laws and codes.

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift and/or move heavy objects. Physical abilities: balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, visual acuity.

$35-40 hourly based on experience.
