The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems and production equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical components. This role troubleshoots equipment issues, completes repairs, and responds to building emergencies to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations across all sites.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance- Independently perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and production equipment to minimize downtime and extend their asset life.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair failures using manuals, diagrams, schematics, and instruments such as multimeters and gauges.
- Accurately document all maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent in the CMMS or designated logs to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate tracking of work performed.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair boilers, heat exchangers, air handlers, chillers, condensers, compressors, and controls.
- Replace filters, belts, bearings, and perform lubrication according to established schedules.
- Monitor system performance and adjust setpoints as needed to maintain proper environmental conditions and encourage energy efficiency.
- Assist with installations and component replacements such as contractors, relays, sensors, and circuit breakers.
- Conduct minor repairs, support troubleshooting, and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Install, maintain, and repair water supply lines, drains, valves, fixtures, pumps, and associated piping.
- Clear blockages, repair leaks, and verify proper operation of backflow prevention and pressure regulation devices.
- Monitor and maintain adequate flow and temperature for building and process needs.
- Perform minor carpentry such as doors, shelving, drywall repair, masonry/patching, and painting to ensure a safe and presentable facility.
- Repair and adjust hardware, ceiling tiles, flooring, and finishes as required.
- Set up, maintain, and repair production machinery, conveyors, pneumatic/hydraulic components, and mechanical assemblies.
- Perform alignment, tensioning, chain/sprocket replacements, and bearing swaps.
- Collaborate with operations to schedule maintenance and support changeovers while minimizing disruption.
- Respond quickly to emergency calls for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and facility issues.
- Comply with OSHA, NFPA, and company standards, including LOTO, PPE, confined space, permits, and fall protection.
- Identify hazards, maintain housekeeping after repairs, support root cause analysis.
